More Stitch Fixing!

A few months back, I took my friend Charity’s recommendation to try out Stitch Fix, an online personal shopping service.  For some background info on the program, please click here.  For the results of my first Stitch Fix box, please click here.

For a few months, I was receiving a monthly box of goodies from Stitch Fix, but recently moved to every other month to help save money for other projects around the house, like the garden.

Brief Garden Update!
Sprouts on everything except the tomatillos.
C’mon, little dudes!

I received my latest Stitch Fix box yesterday, and I wanted to share my newest results.* Here we go!
Stitch Fix has recently delved into offering bags as accessories, in addition to things like jewelry and belts and such.  This is the Emperia charleston embossed crossbody bag with zipper detail:

Fair warning - the modeling in these pictures is a direct result of
Easter brunch at the Westin Kierland.
It involved lots of food, 2 mimosas, and 2 glasses of champagne.
What?  It was included in the price and Chris was DD'ing.

I liked the bag (it was a really fun shade of pink), but I pretty much use one purse at a time and keep it for a few years.  For $48, the bag was cute, but I ended up sending it back since I don’t really need another bag right now.

My second item was the Pomelo priya graphic print knit-back tank ($54).

Aw, yeah!  Mimosas!

I was initially a little afraid that the back on this would be too see-through for my comfort**, but once I had the shirt on, it didn't seem to show at all.  Hooray!  Since I wear tanks almost every day to work in one form or another, this shirt was a winner.  Bonus points for what Chris described as the "guitar pick" pattern on the front.  Keeper!

Next was the 41 Hawthorn amani cowl neck sleeveless blouse ($48).

Overall, I liked this one.  When untucked, it's a bit shapeless, but when tucked in, it's good.  In reading other Stitch Fix reviews on other blogs, I guess it is what's called a Hi Lo shirt, which means it's shorter in the front than the back, in case you want to wear it untucked but don't want your tramp stamp to show when you bend over to wash the feet of the faithful.  Anywhoo, I don't have any cowl neck shirts at this time, and this is a nice color and soft fabric.  Keeper!

Up next, the Margaret M emer high waisted cropped trouser ($98).

I wasn't totally sold on the pants.  Even though the IRS loves to consider me fancier now that we're married and have moved up a tax bracket, I still feel that when you pay $100 or over for something (particularly one article of clothing), you should love it.  I also feel that your work pants shouldn't clearly show you the outline of your underpants.  I guess I'm old fashioned that way.  I sent these back, but I did like the fabric (a bit stretchy and pretty comfy, overall) - just not enough to keep them.

Finally, the Lily jordanna geo print swing skirt ($58).

Modeling the skirt with the 41 Hawthorn blouse and
a necklace from one of my previous Stitch Fix boxes.

Overall, I dug this skirt.  I like skirts/dresses to hit right at my knee to make me seem not quite so short, and this fit the bill, plus it was comfy and can be washed in the washing machine!  Hooray!  It also makes me happy due to the black and white color scheme and slight Escher-eque print.  Keeper!

If you'd like to try Stitch Fix (no pressure!), please consider using my referral link:  when you sign up through my link, I get a $25 credit.

Later!

*Some of my blog fans have been asking for more Stitch Fix news.  I know – I have fans!  And they aren’t just Mom, either!

** I belong to the firmly Southern old school of "if you can see your bra, you're a tramp."  I'm slowly getting over this, but this phobia still makes me wear tank tops under other shirts sometimes.  In the summer in Phoenix, that's super lame.
