Labor Day in Las Vegas! Part 3

Start with Part 2 here.

Sunday morning in Las Vegas found Chris and I relaxing in our room at the Aria, leisurely waking up after a great evening spent eating at CraftSteak and attending the Queen/Adam Lambert show.  We grabbed some pastries and caffeinated beverages from the counter next to the elevators and ate while we got ready for the day and packed up our belongings.  After handing over our bags to the bell service representative, we checked out of the hotel and started our northward crawl along the Strip.

Coincidentally, we found a picture of Chris'
dinner from Sage on Friday night!
His scallops were a bit smaller,
but just as beautiful.

Our first stop was the Conservatory inside the Bellagio; they change the entire scheme of flowers, props, and other plants each few months, and we wanted to catch the display.  This time, it seemed to be themed something like, "Italian Summer Garden," which was just as lovely as their other seasonal offerings.

These were giant ficus trees -
the worried face is because we have those same ones
in our front yard.  We hope ours don't get that idea...

Takes me back to Rose Parade float decorating!

We killed some time wandering through the outdoor areas at Bellagio, and we headed over to the Miracle Mile shops/mall to waste the hour before our lunch reservation.  I tried on a few things, but only ended up buying some new unders at VS (7 for $28 - a steal!) and a few neutral, layering option tops for our upcoming trip to Paris (if you've read this far, congrats!  This blog is actually posting automatically, and we're THERE right now!  OMG, I'm so excited!).

With shopping time over, we headed to our lunch destination, one of our favorite spots in Vegas, Mon Ami Gabi.  As I've noted in pretty much every blog about a Vegas trip, we go to Gabi each time we visit, and it's consistently pretty darn good.  This time was no exception, and we enjoyed our dishes, as well as some great people watching on the Strip.

After lunch, we started the long, hot slog back to Treasure Island to reclaim the car.  The Strip is always changing, with new properties taking over the spaces left by older ones, but some areas of the walk were just as grimy as they always are.  By the time we hit TI, we were more than happy to get out of the crowded madness and into our little bubble of serenity.  A quick drive back to Aria had us picking up our luggage, and we were back onto the open road!

Since we headed home on Sunday, instead of Monday of the long weekend, the trip home was pretty uneventful, with just normal, local Sunday traffic.  We stopped at Eddie World again for a bathroom break, and we made it home by late afternoon.  As I mentioned in Part 2 of this blog series, we'd brought our leftovers from CraftSteak all the way home with us, and our dinner that night was delicious once more.

Overall, it was a great trip!

Later,

Amy
