Meet August!

Image
As you may have seen on Facebook, just over two weeks ago, we recently added another member to the Olsen household...world, meet August! "Helloooooo! Look at my ears -  I can hear your thoughts!" The two of us generally favor having two dogs at any one time in the house; while we found out that three is A LOT to handle (it gets hard when they outnumber you), one can be just as demanding, particularly when that one is a high-energy, exceedingly driven little maniac like this girl: "What do you mean you have to work? You need to be available to play with me all.day.long." Since Zoe spent her earliest months with Kaylee (as Kaylee lived out her final days), and she looooves her time at doggie daycare, we knew she'd like having another doggo in the house to romp around with.   Throwback picture to Zoe's earliest days with us. Look at how little she was! Also, that is one reflective collar! While we're doing t

Lots of stuff happened in Part 5 .  Did you read it? We slept in until 6am (WHAT?) on Thursday morning, and in what quickly became our standard operating procedure, we greeted the day with coffee and chai on our lanai.  The day prior, we'd made reservations for Duke's Hula Grill for breakfast, so we strolled down to Waikiki proper and enjoyed some noms on their patio, overlooking the ocean.  Already in our beach gear and with towels in tow, we wandered back along the sand and found a good place opposite the Hale Koa/Fort De Russy to plop down for a little bit and catch some rays.  After getting a bit too warm for our tastes (we are officially old and cranky), we finished our stroll back and found ourselves once again at the adult pool at the Modern Hotel next door, where we read and lounged for another hour.  After a quick trip to the ABC Store across the street, it was time for more shaved ice downstairs at Dave's, and then it was upstairs to clean up for lunch with D

Hey, you should read Part 4 , if you haven't already done so. Sunrise on another amazing day! Morning 4 rolled around and found us sleeping in until the luxurious time of 5:30am!  Determined to avoid being branded a lazybones (extreme sarcasm), I headed out for a short run, once again around Ala Moana Park.  Chris kept an eye on me from above, once again resting his toe on the lanai: "Bye, hon!" Running around the marina For my part, I stopped to take a few pictures as well: Surfers in the water in front of Diamond Head Looking east(ish) toward downtown. Not too shabby on the scenery front, non? When I got back, we cleaned up and started a load of laundry, then headed downstairs to the Ilikai's onsite restaurant, Cinnamon's, where we hadn't eaten yet.  We each enjoyed a giant portion of breakfast food, and we took some back to the room, where I enjoyed it the next morning, too.
