New Product Testing

We here at Olsen Low Level Athletics and Associates are always interested in trying out new products...actually, we're generally not.  We tend to find things we like and stick with them until someone stops making them or they give us a massive rash or something equally horrible.  However, we still read a fair amount of gear reviews, so when we see something that looks cool, we tend to be interested.

Enter a recent edition of Runner's World, complete with some ideas for Mother's Day.  One of the ideas was an all natural body lubricant called Ruby's Lube.  I've used Body Glide for years, and it's always worked well, but it's full of  chemicals.  Ruby's states it's made with only five ingredients, all of them natural.  Runner's World also says it smells good, so I figured I'd give it a shot.

I checked out the website, and it gave me the option to order a free sample, which I did.  About a week later, a package arrived in the mail with not one, but two - count 'em, two! - small tubes.  These guys are the perfect size for travel and for stashing in my gym bag.

I first had a chance to try the Ruby's on Thursday when I wore a skirt to work.  I normally use a little bit of chafy stick on my thighs when I wear a skirt because I am a real woman who does not have one of those "thigh gaps" people are talking about nowadays.  You know, because I eat.  Food.  Anywhoodle, the Ruby's was great.  It smells lightly of lemon and is a little goopy at first, but it rubs in nicely.

I next tested it out on a 3 mile easy run yesterday, using in my normal trouble spots - under the front of my sports bra, on the backs of my underarms, and the thighs again.  Again, good results!  I'll plan on using it a few more times to be sure, but I think I might have found a keeper!

Later!

Amy
